Prayer and Unity Kick Off a Transformative Spiritual Journey

21 Days of Prayer & Fasting (2025)

The sanctuary at First Armenian Presbyterian Church (FAPC) was alive with worship and reflection on January 6, 2025, as it hosted the opening night of the 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for the Fresno/Clovis community. The event, which coincided with Armenian Christmas, brought together believers from diverse congregations for a night of spiritual renewal, anchored in the words of the Lord’s Prayer.

The evening began with the FAPC Worship Band setting the tone, performing heartfelt renditions of songs like The Lord’s Prayer and Holy Forever. Pastor Razmig Minassian introduced the focus for the night, praying through each line of the Lord’s Prayer and reflecting on its profound call to live according to God’s will.

Pastor Greg Haroutunian welcomed attendees, sharing insights into the 21 Days of Prayer’s history and encouraging reflection on the spiritual journey. Participants formed prayer triplets—small groups that lifted up their churches, pastors, and community in prayer.

Scripture readings and teachings on fasting deepened the night’s focus. Elder Paul Haroutunian explained fasting as a spiritual practice that strengthens one’s connection with God while disconnecting from worldly distractions. He emphasized its role in fostering humility and breakthroughs.

Throughout the night, pastors from various churches led prayers addressing God’s provision, forgiveness, and deliverance. Silent moments allowed personal reflection, accompanied by the Armenian hymn Meghkerovs Der.

The evening concluded with a torch-passing ceremony led by Bishop Paul Binion of Westside Church of God, symbolizing unity across congregations. FAPC’s Worship Band performed Living Hope to close, celebrating God’s eternal kingdom and glory.

The powerful night of worship, prayer, and community set a hopeful tone for 21 days of collective spiritual focus.
